It was restored and moved to its present location along the shore of Lake Erie in 2016. This view is across a small pond. Lake Erie is just beyond the lighthouse. This is merely a crop idea from OH18_2611

 • Marblehead Lighthouse in Marblehead Lighthouse State Park on Lake Erie, Marblehead, Ohio on a fall day, September 2018.
It is the oldest Great Lakes lighthouse having been in continuous operation, since the 1820s.
The name “marblehead,” meaning “marble headland,” comes from the rocky Marblehead Peninsula on which it stands, a headland made of Columbus Limestone, often mistakenly called marble. You can see the rocky headland in this photography, taken at twilight as the sun is starting to get lower in the sky, with a pink tinge beginning on the horizon and turning the rock outcropping shades of pink.

This is one of two crops - there a re several other possibilities - OH18_2799_MC - In this one, the leaves frame the lighthouse. It can be cropped even closer, since the original file is 42MP.

 • Marblehead Lighthouse State Park on Lake Erie, Marblehead, Ohio, September 2018. The oldest Great Lakes lighthouse in continuous operation, since 1822. Blue hour at twilight near sunset in autumn with pink and purple clouds and the green lamp of the lighthouse lit. This is one of several possible crops for OH18_2799_MC . I've submitted this crop because I have removed a portion of the picnic table that was on the right side and its associated shadow. I have also shrunk the image down to 14 inches square after cropping.

 • Huron Harbor Lighthouse on Lake Erie, one of America's Great Lakes, at the mouth of the Huron River in Huron, Ohio, September 2018. Built In 1939, the white steel pyramidal shaped art deco style lighthouse is the third light house to stand at this site. A solar powered lantern, added in 1972, is still in use today. It remains an active aid to navigation.

 • Marblehead Lighthouse State Park on Lake Erie, Marblehead, Ohio, in the fall, with green light lit during the golden hour as the sun sets, September 2018. The oldest Great Lakes lighthouse in continuous operation. This one looked very different cropped due to the location of the clouds, so I've uploaded the crop as well as the original vertical.
