White waterlily, Nymphaea odorata ssp. odorata, in Swan Lake, Rockefeller State Park Preserve, Pleasantville, Westchester County, New York. The white water lily is indigenous to New York state. The leaves of this aquatic native plant float on the water. and its aquatic nature is why this beautiful wildflower is named for a nymph.
