Lego pirate discovering a magic sword. A Lego minifigure young boy and his dog discover a shiny pirate sword in a trunk in the attic.
Part of a series of fantasy pirate themed images, perfect for young children and the young at heart.
The impetus for the series was a pirate challenge in a Lego photography group for AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego), which I joined a little over a year ago when I first became interested in toy photography..
Growing up as a girl in the 1960s, I was told Legos were for boys, and while I got the chance to finally play with them with my daughter and then with my grandson, I did not own a single minifigure of my own until mid-2023.
Not surprisingly, I did not have a wonderful Lego pirate ship nor even a pirate minifigure for the challenge, so I got creative, using a scrap of newspaper to make a pirate hat for this cute little guy. Instant pirate! And I actually found him a (non-Lego) sword among the detritus of old toys in my attic.
I enjoy combining Lego bricks, common household items, random toys, and homemade items to build little worlds for my minifigures. If you look closely you will see a scrap of a Lego box tucked into the bin on the lower left.
