White tail deer are common from as far north as he Yukon south to Bolivia. This subspecies, Odocoileus virginianus borealis, is prevalent throughout the northeastern and Great Lakes areas of the United States and Canada. Northern whitetails are, found in New York State, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota in the United States and Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec in Canada.
