Niantic, East Lyme, Connecticut USA 28 Oct 2012 Residents in the beach community of Black Point, along the Connecticut shoreline, have tied down their patio furniture in the hopes of protecting it from damage by Hurricane Sandy. Wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour, heavy rain, storm surges and flooding are predicted for the area Monday and Tuesday.
