Grant’s Tomb, New York, NY, October 2013. Although known colloquially as Grant’s Tomb, it is officially called the General Grant National Memorial and is a tribute to Ulysses S. Grant, Civil War hero and 18th president of the United States. President Grant and his wife, Julia Dent Grant, are interred in the granite and marble monument located in Riverside Park in Manhattan. It is the second largest mausoleum in the Western Hemisphere.
