NEW YORK, September 7: Kim Clijsters (BEL) competing in the quarterfinals at the 2010 US Open. Clijsters defeated Samantha Stosur (AUS) 6-4 5-7 6-3 in that round and later went on to win the US Open Championship, her third time winning that tournament and her third Grand Slam tennis title. She won the title on September 11 and acknowledged this by saying: "Nine years ago the world changed for everybody. It was an honor to play here today and maybe I gave you all a bit of a distraction." EDITORIAL USE ONLY.
