Echinacea purpurea aka purple coneflowers, perennial wildflowers, dancing in the wind in a Mount Pleasant, New York meadow at Rockefeller State Park Preserve, Westchester County, July 2016. These herbaceous plants are native to eastern North America and can be seen in country gardens and wild and scenic spaces throughout the Hudson Valley. Echinacea are great for pollinators, a boon to butterfly gardens and are also popular in herbal remedies.
