Giant Saguaro cacti, Carnegiea gigantea, in the Sonoran Desert landscape, McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, April 2014. The saguaro cactus, which can live for 150-200 years, is the tallest cactus in the United States. Its white flowers are the Arizona State flower. It only grows naturally in the Sonoran Desert. You can see holes for nesting birds, known as saguaro boots, in the front cactus.
