Common reeds (Phragmites australis) in a saltwater marsh in Niantic Connecticut, USA, silhouetted against a dramatic sky just after sunset in the late spring, with pink and purple reflections in the water. A peaceful New England scene.
This saltwater marsh, known to locals as the backwaters, is one of my favorite places in the entire world to photograph. I have spent at least apart of every summer there since I was 10 years old, these days that may just mean a handful of weekends, but I love the beautiful tranquility of the place and how magical it is at sunset.
This image is part of a large series of sunset images I have taken of this beautiful bog over the years and they look gorgeous hung together to bring some beautiful color to the walls of your home or office, creating a sense of serenity and peace.
